What to expect from our 4 week intro classes

  • Structured 4 week programme you can join at any time in the cycle and only one class a week minimum (Two recommended)

  • Longer and shorter classes to fit your schedule

  • great way to start your bjj journey and get comfortable with the basics

This is a four weeks basic course building up your knowledge with a proven syllabus to get you ready for your BJJ journey. Each class will have a movement element, a self defence focused technique and a submission

Week 1: Mount

Learn the basic mount movements and techniques to give you an understanding of this powerful position.

Week 2: Closed guard

This is a BJJ classic position, that lets you fight from the bottom, in this week you will learn out to control your opponent and submit from the ground.

Week 3: Side control

Side control is a beginner favourite and is a good controlling position. You will learn how to escape and submit as well as adding more basic movements from the previous weeks

Week 4: Back control

Back control is a great place to attack from. You will also go over the previous weeks techniques and will be ready to start your BJJ journey with all the knowledge you have built up over the weeks.

Beginners Course FAQs

What do I need to wear to the first class or course?

All you need are comfortable gym clothes and some flip flops for when not on the mats

Is there parking?

Parking is free after 6:30pm, before that there are a lot of pay and display spaces near the gym

What if I’m late?

Don’t worry, London can be a challenge to get around and work gets in the way, BJJ is supposed to be fun and we will get you started. If you can’t make it for your free class we can always book you in again, just send us an email: info@wavebjj.co

Who is it suitable for?

It is suitable for everyone, we have structured the course to be as accessible as possible. We have students from 16-60 of all sizes and fitness levels.
